Family Activity Worry Role PlayIn Matthew's gospel, Jesus mentioned three reasons why Christian worry. Some worry their secrets will be known. Others fear the criticism (and persecution) of friends and strangers. Still others fret over the lack of basic needs. While these can be legitimate worries, they narrow our vision. They don't allow us to see who is really in charge. God. To focus on God, have your family role play everyday worries. Write down a several scenarios of everyday worry on separate pieces of paper. Have a family member pick one of these scenarios at random and act it out to seek a solution. After the role play, ask your family how God would have seen the worry. What would he do? How can your family members trust him with the problem? End with a prayer. Place all family worries at the feet of God. |
